Did You Know?
Richland Parish Rx Drug Safe Disposal Project:
Many households are unaware of the danger that lurks in their homes – unused and unsecured prescription drugs are readily available to eager teens looking to experiment. Most think it could never happen to them, but all too often it does. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. The solution is simple – secure prescription drugs while being used, and safely dispose of them at an intake location when done.
The Community of HOPE #IAmHere, Delhi Police Department & Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office are committed to promoting the safe disposal of prescription drugs, and saving lives in the process. The Rx Drug Safe Disposal project gives the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangers expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
We are an advocate for building awareness of the issues and helping to prevent it- our goal is to do what we can to ensure our community members do not become another statistic in the fight against Rx Drug abuse.
